Friends of Aabroo
Through our donors generous support, Friends of Aabroo raised over $120,000 last year. This allowed us to contribute $104,000 to Aabroo to support their various capital and other projects.
In addition to this, Friends of Aabroo has done the following:
- Organized a booth at the 2017 ISNA convention bazaar in Chicago to share Aabroo’s work with others
- Collaborated with a local business, Pens And Paintings, who will donate to Friends of Aabroo 10% of proceeds from sale of their Badshahi Masjid paintings in Lahore
- Teamed up with Halal Direct, who will donate 10% of their profits to Friends of Aabroo
- A New York artist has designed five motivational posters as a gift to the Aabroo students in Lahore
- Registered with Amazon Smile: you can select Friends of Aabroo as the charity you want to support when you login from smile.amazon.com. Amazon will donate a percentage of your purchase to Friends of Aabroo.
Aabroo Educational Welfare Organization
- Provided free education to over 4,500 children in nine school and many shanty areas
- Provided daily hot lunch to over 4,500 children during school hours
- Completed two additional floors in the new boy’s school to accommodate grades 11 and 12
- Constructed foundation of the new elementary school
- Are in the final stages of starting construction of orphanage (Peace Home) for 150 orphans (separate sections for boys and girls)
- Are acquiring new parcels of land adjacent to the main Aabroo facility to accommodate future needs
